This course provides a basic foundation into the craft of acting to all participants, regardless of experience. Through investigating techniques in script analysis, movement, voice, ensemble, and collective collaboration, students gain skills widely useful in social, business or public speaking situations. Participants are assigned scene-work and/or monologues as a means of personal exploration, and they work closely with the instructor to discover their strengths and challenges as an actor.

Designed for individuals with some exposure to the Adobe suite of design software, this course provides an overview of the fundamentals of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Topics include image resolution, scanning, importing and exporting images, print setup, photo adjustments and vector usage. Basic typography and design will also be addressed. You can expect to gain a better understanding of how the three programs work together to create products for print or the web.

When it comes to designing web layouts, Adobe Illustrator allows you to move and resize elements quickly and intuitively. Illustrator is the industry standard for creating vector-based graphics such as logos and typography. It is also a rich supporting tool in creating page layouts prior to starting design. This course focuses on a practical overview of Adobe Illustrator's interface, workspace, tools and techniques. InDesign allows the creation of multipage documents, and it works seamlessly with images from Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Learn how to integrate and use these tools more effectively. Print output is the student's responsibility.

Explore Adobe Photoshop through hands-on design-based exercises. The course starts with an introduction to the Photoshop interface, its tools and the types of files that are used for graphic application for web and print. The course continues as you learn how to use layers, effects, text, filters and image optimization tools for the web. Once you gain familiarity with the tools of Photoshop you will be able to use those skills to create a range of images from altered photographs to website templates and elements such as content boxes and buttons, and rich graphics.

Produce handmade, usable ceramic dishware in this class designed for beginners and experienced ceramicists alike. Create plates, cups and other functional objects using three techniques: Hand-building, wheel throwing and molding and casting. Seasoned potters can advance their practice with added processes including coil, slab and pinch hand. All students take part in weekly demonstrations, including discussions on surface embellishing, altering forms, firing processes and various clays, slips, glazes and kiln firing procedures.

In this one-week intensive serves as an introduction to the methods and techniques of modeling, making a mold, casting and finishing a final piece. Learn to prepare an armature, set up the clay, scale the sculpture adn complete the process of modeling in water-based clay. The ablity to structure a modeled form and comprehend how to represent compound volumes are addressed through direct observation. The unique techniques of using silicone as a precise mold-making material are enhanced through discussion and demonstrations.

In this one-week course, investigate ceramics materials and processes, focusing on glaze chemistry and glaze application in relation to clay body, oxidation and firing. You will obtain technical experience in glazes and discuss the visual and physical characteristics of fired glaze in relation to the integration of form, surface, color, structure, function and expression. Content is designed for those with previous throwing or hand-building experience who seek to explore the technical aspects of glazing. Studio time, critiques and lectures will provide you with opportunities for personal exploration.
