In this course students will explore color relationships, systems, harmonies, and contrasts. Through hands-on application using acrylic and/or gouache paint students will investigate strategies for working effectively with color. Students will learn to use color to reinforce the principles and elements of design; how color relates to the worlds of fine arts, design, and media; define and implement the vocabulary of color; and complement color knowledge with its involvement in art history. This course is suitable for all skill levels.

9x12” Bristol board pad
Palette (disposable type is acceptable)
Set of brushes (flats, should have a range of sizes)
Container (jar, tupperware. etc.)
Acrylic or gouache paints (size depending on preference)
