The goal is of course to be able to publish a piece of your work. You will most certainly be reaching toward this goal in the class. But writing is much more than that. In our writing, we reveal the deepest part of ourselves. It puts us in touch with everything around us. The world becomes brighter, the air crisper, the skies bluer. It’s an amazing gift to give to others and to ourselves. You’ll find that publishing is easy. It’s exciting but not half as exciting as the process.
What will you do in class?
This is a Creative Writing Workshop. As such, class participation is extremely important. Each week, you will be given several stories to read and critique. When we gather together the week afterward, we will speak about the stories in depth. Your involvement is critical to the process.
What topics will be covered?
All materials will be handed out in class, or provided electronically.
