Join us in this 5-week workshop and learn how to make fine silver jewelry using Precious Metal Clay. PMC is a nontoxic putty-like clay made from powdered fine metals which is worked with the simplest of tools. It can be worked wet or dry. When dry it is filed, drilled, carved or sanded. Dried work is fired in a kiln to fuse the metal particles producing a solid metal object. Fused PMC can be soldered, filed, colored with patinas or enameled on. We will be using PMC+ clay, PMC+ paper sheet and PMC3 slip. You will learn how to fire CZ stone in place. We will also make an RTV silicone rubber mold.
