A panel discussion on topics including: achieving customer success, navigating web-based projects and how to excel in campaign management. Each panelist will speak to their experience at local agencies from the brand, communications and social media perspective. The moderator Alisha Miranda (Digital Marketing Strategies Instructor in Continuing Education at The University of the Arts) will be joined by panelists: Suzanne Cotter, Director, Marketing & Communications Think Company; Ashley Bernard, Marketing & Communications at Delphic Digital; Swabreen Bakr, Marketing Manager at BlackStar Film Festival.

Swabreen Bakr is a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media. She has 10 years of content creation, communications, digital strategy and marketing experience with a focus on photography, writing, social media marketing, and grassroots activations in industries ranging from start-ups, food and beverage, film, travel, fitness, news media and online learning. As a consultant she’s worked with brands such as Tastemade, PHL DNC and Bacardi USA. Currently she serves as the Marketing Manager for the BlackStar Film Festival, and the Engagement Editor for the upcoming online publication, CityWide. Swabreen also has a background in journalism and continues to write in a freelance capacity for Philadelphia Weekly. She also launched her personal brand called “Natural Skincare Diary,” an online hub for skincare enthusiasts, where she functions as art director, photographer and writer.
Originally from Georgetown, Guyana, she immigrated to the United States at age 16 and has been living and working in Philadelphia ever since.
Ashley Bernard is the Marketing Communications Specialist at Delphic, where she helps serve as the “voice of the company" by advancing brand exposure through content creation, strategic partnerships, and actively engaging with industry thought leaders and potential talent. Prior to joining the Delphic team in 2015, Ashley worked as a freelance web designer and small business consultant for local organizations including The Hactory and the Philadelphia Tennis Club. A Philly native and proud graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, she is passionate about building diverse communities and using technology as a tool for social justice.
Since 2008, Suzanne has helped colleges, non-profit organizations, and private companies to communicate to their audiences with clarity and purpose. She's been a writer, editor, brand enforcer, event planner, and media liaison, and she's worked with organizations to tell big stories, build a social media presence, and pull off conferences big and small. In her current role as Director of Marketing and Communications at Think Company, Suzanne's goal is to ensure the world knows what makes Think Co.'s work and team so exceptional.
