Digital Photography Certificate Capstone Exhibition

Pop Looking Out the Window

Digital Photo Certificate Capstone Exhibition
On View September 5-September 28

"Window into Pop's World"
by Sara Manzano-Díaz

Reception: Wednesday, September 5, 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Sara Manzano-Díaz is an attorney, photographer, and UArts Digital Photography Certificate candidate whose current project focuses on personal narrative and documentary portraiture.

Window into Pop’s World is a collection of intimate photographs depicting a 97-year-old man—the artist’s father-in-law—and his everyday experiences as he transitions into widowhood after 67 years of marriage. Dreamlike images depict time passing, witnessed through an attentive lens. Universal themes of memory, cycles, rememberance, and aging arise through penetrating photographs of one man’s daily life.

Manzano-Díaz has spent her life advocating on behalf of working class families, veterans, women, and girls. She strives to continue her advocacy by using photography as a tool for visual storytelling and social impact. Manzano-Díaz aims to empower and uplift individuals by documenting their lives and experiences. She lives and works in Philadelphia.

Exhibition is free and open to the public.
