Barbara Bassett has worked in the field of Museum Education since 1981.  Throughout her career she has taught gallery and classroom programs for Pre-K – 12th grade students,  led professional development workshops for  teachers  and developed resource materials that invite students to explore visual arts and connect with their classroom learning.  As the Constance Williams Curator of Education for School and Teacher Programs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, she oversees the day to day operations of School and Teacher Programs, which serves over 60,000 students and 3,000 teachers per year through on-site and virtual programs. Ms. Bassett has been recognized for her work in Museum Education by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association, who awarded her “Outstanding Museum Educator of the Year” in 1999 and by the National Art Education Association, who named her “Eastern Region Museum Art Educator of the Year” in 2004.  She is presently the Eastern Region Representative for the Museum Division of NAEA.
