James Olstein is an illustrator/creative director who lives with his wife and cat in Philadelphia. Originally from western Pennsylvania, he received his BFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University in 2001. He has been working in the design field ever since. For the past 7 years he has worked as an art director for the advertising agency the Brownstein Group. While at the Brownstein Group he created award winning work for brands like IKEA and Mural Arts. In 2016 James left the Brownstein Group and started his own studio in South Philly. His clients include the BBC, Economia, AARP and the TV show Bob's Burgers.
James works primarily in editorial illustration with a focus on science and technology. His work is 100% vector despite it’s hand drawn feel. You can see James’ work in numerous publications such as Mental Floss, the Boston Globe and Scientific American. His cat is named Nacho.
