Alec Karros is teaching Ceramics-Focus on Throwing, Levels 1, 2 and 3 at the Wayne Art Center for the Professional Institute for Educators this fall. Currently an adjunct associate professor at the University of the Arts, Karros earned a BFA from Philadelphia College of Art and an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. He maintains a professional studio, Bulls Eye Pottery, in Mountainville, NJ.

Former Pre-College Student Publishes Novel Loosely Based on UArts Summer Program

Author Siobhan Vivian attended UArts' Pre-College Summer Institute in 1996 and went on to earn a degree from UArts in Writing for Film and Television in 2001. She recently published her second novel, Same Difference, which is loosely based on her experience in the Pre-College Summer Institute.

Grant Awards Received for Pre-College Programs

The Division of Continuing Studies is pleased to announce recent grant awards from the 1675 Foundation, the Richard and Jean Coyne Family Foundation, the Brook J. Lenfest Foundation, the Christian and Mary Lindback Foundation, and the Kal and Lucille Rudman Foundation to help meet the required match of the three-year grant awarded by the Surdna Foundation.
